Attorney Bio.

Ms. Bussel handles employment matters, civil rights claims, the defense of Title 59 matters on behalf of public entities and their employees, education disputes, automobile negligence, premise liability, and professional liability cases in New Jersey Superior Court and the District Court of New Jersey.  Ms. Bussel has experience litigating claims of injury ranging from herniated discs to fractures requiring surgery, to traumatic brain injuries, as well as claims involving constitutional violations, discrimination and harassment under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.  Her representation of public entities has resulted in successful representation for the City of Bridgeton, City of Long Branch, Borough of Keansburg, the Town of Hackettstown, the Township of Weehawken, and numerous public employees, defending against claims under the NJLAD, CEPA, for false arrest, use of excessive force, failure to intervene, improper search and seizure, conspiracy, claims under Monell, negligent hiring and training and for punitive damages.  She has argued motions in 19 of the 21 counties in this State, as well as the District Court and at the Appellate level. Ms. Bussel has also handled numerous arbitrations and mediations throughout the State, and been trial counsel in a complex matter involving claims for personal injury and violations of constitutional rights.

Notably Ms. Bussel obtained a favorable decision on behalf of her clients in a published decision, Crystal Ice-Bridgeton, LLC v. City of Bridgeton, 428 N.J. Super. 576 (App. Div. 2012), where the Appellate Division affirmed the trial court’s ruling that a fire chief was not required to provide 24-hours' notice to an owner and participate in a hearing prior to authorizing a public contractor to demolish part of a fire-damaged building.


EDUCATIONAL & PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Ms. Bussel attended and graduated in 1999 from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology.  Ms. Bussel obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center in 2003.  While attending law school, Ms. Bussel was a staff member for the International Travel Law Journal.  Her article on airline liability was published in the May 2002 edition of the journal.  Ms. Bussel also served as Secretary for Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and performed pro bono work for the Legal Aid Society of Broward County, Florida.  Presently, Ms. Bussel is a member of the Hunterdon County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Ms. Bussel worked for medium-sized law firms in Hunterdon and Middlesex Counties before joining Trinity & Farsiou, LLC in 2022. She is currently a partner in the firm.
